Induction

The past month has been all about settling into the role of president. Thanks to the hard work of the previous SU Presidents and the amazing AUBSU staff, Lily and I had such a smooth transition.

There’s been a lot to learn so far, from understanding how the Students’ Union operates day to day to getting familiar with all the systems that keep everything running.

Some highlights include:

Getting to know the SU team and how every department works together

Learning the ins-and-outs of the Union and everything that goes on behind the scenes

Finally getting to grips with Outlook 

Organising absolutely everything

Settling into the office and making the space feel like home for the year ahead

Filling the calendar with meetings, projects, campaigns, and exciting events

And, of course, discovering how not to burn down the Union while making noodles in the SU microwave

Also, In the midst of all the SU chaos, I officially graduated!

It was such a lovely opportunity to celebrate everything I’ve achieved over the last few years as well as have one final celebration with my incredible coursemates. I’m so grateful for my time as a student, and SUUPER excited to get the new uni year started.
