About Us

Arts University Bournemouth Students’ Union (AUBSU) is a registered charity and the official students’ union for over 4,000 students at Arts University Bournemouth — one of the UK’s leading creative institutions.

We exist to:

  • Represent and amplify the voice of students

  • Champion equality, inclusion and wellbeing

  • Support student-led activity, community, and development

  • Deliver strategic change in partnership with the University and wider society

We focus on three key strands of student life:

  • Student Work (academic representation)

  • Student Rest (wellbeing and advice)

  • Student Play (clubs, societies, events, and community building)

Our Board

AUBSU is governed by a Board of Trustees who are legally responsible for the Students’ Union’s activities, finances, and strategy. Our Board includes:

  • Up to 4 External Trustees

  • Up to 4 Student Trustees

  • 1 University Governing Body Nominee

  • 2 Sabbatical (Full-Time) Officers (including the President)

The Board meets six times annually, oversees sub-committees (including Finance, Risk, and Impact), and plays a key role in shaping our direction as a charity.
