great news! Now you can plant a tree without leaving your house.
Over the past 5 years, we've donated and planted around 1000 trees each year in the local area. Unfortunately, we couldn't get out to do that this year, but we aren't going to let a lockdown stop us from planting trees!
So we thought, hey, there’s a ton of apps and websites out there where you can either make a small change, give a bit of your time or a small donation to plant a tree. And thus our Tech For Trees was sprouted! But we can't do it alone! We want to get the whole of AUB planting trees!
Match-Planting
Exciting news! For every 50 tree milestone that we hit, AUB has pledged to plant an additional 500 trees through Eden Reforestation Projects!
Plus, if we plant 250 trees (half-way!), AUB will plant an extra 1000 trees for that milestone (an extra 500 trees)!
And if we make our 500 target, AUB will plant another 1000 trees, boosting their total to 4000 trees planted across 8 different countries: Haiti, Honduras, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Nepal and Nicaragua.

This pledges your support and also means we can contact you about the campaign. Don't worry, we don't spam. Mostly, we'll be emailing about how to log your trees and win prizes!

2) Get planting!
Below are loads of ways you can plant. We've gathered our favourite apps and websites. Don't feel you have to only use these! If you buy from somewhere and they plant a tree as part of your purchase, count it! Every tree you plant counts.
3) Let us know how you're doing each month
We'll check in monthly with you to see how many trees you've planted. Anyone who plants over 30 trees a month witll get a little green prize! Then we'll have bigger prizes each month for our most dedicated planter: Our Tree Master of the Month!
The trees you've planted will go towards a grand total of trees our AUB community have planted - we're hoping to plant 500 trees by the end of the year.

Ecosia.org
Ecosia is a search engine, just like Google. Except Ecosia uses the profit they make from your searches to plant trees where they are needed most. Ecosia keeps a tally of how many trees you’ve planted so you can see your direct impact.

This app is our favourite for tree planting, just because it’s so effective and easy to use. First, pick a project and choose which reforestation project you’d like to support. Then watch or scroll through some short messages from their sponsors (of conscious brands). Plant a tree for the day with just a tap. You can also view your global impact and carbon footprint.

If you want to boost your productivity, whilst planting trees, this is the app for you!
Whenever you want to stay focused, plant a tree. Your tree will grow while you focus on your work. Leaving the app halfway will cause your tree to die. You focus on your task and plant real trees while you do. Everyone’s a winner.
