Hi everyone! We are Lily (left) and Achilles (right) your Presidents’ for the 2026-2027 academic year! We were both students at AUB and now do this as our full time job (I know right, how cool). We are so excited to welcome you in September and congratulations on your results, we cannot wait to welcome you to AUB! Freshers Week here at AUBSU is a great opportunity to meet your peers, get stuck in and have fun! We have loads of activities on offer for you throughout the week so there is something for everyone! Whether you just want the freebies, want to get crafty or just want to sit down and watch a movie – there is something for you! Here at AUBSU our job is to support you and ensure you get the best experience possible whilst studying at AUB. We will also be around all week so if you have any question big or small then come say hello if you see us on campus or pop into our office we would love to see you! Where do I buy tickets?
You can buy tickets on NATIVE, these will go live and the link will appear here on Wednesday 26th August.Â
Where are the locations for these events?
Most events are on main campus. For the daytime events these will be mainly in our marquees (which you can’t miss) or on both Courtyards. For Monday evening this will be in South House, Tuesday is in FLIRT a venue in town, Thursday is in Arts Bar and the Crab on campus and Friday night is in the Old Fire Station in town.Â
What is on campus and what isn’t?
As said above all daytime events are on campus. The events that aren’t are the Sabbs Pub Quiz on the Tuesday and Lollipop in collaboration with SUBU.
How do I meet new people?
Come along, get involved and introduce yourself, its all part of the experience. You are all in the same boat and will all be feeling the same, sometimes you just need to put yourself out there. We have something for everyone, so join in and you will meet others like yourself!
Do I have to go to all the events?
Not at all! Only come along to the ones that sound fun to you and interest you. The more you attend though the more new people you will meet.Â
Is everything alcohol based?
Most of our events are alcohol free, apart from Pizza & Processco and Tipsy Life. We will have non alcoholic options at both of these events.

Are there events in my accomodation?
Student Services will be running events from move in weekend up until Freshers Week, this will be communicated separately.Â
What is free and what has a ticket price?
Most things are free, Swan Club & Pub Quiz are £2. Tipsy Life and Pizza & Processco are £4.
What are your top tips to enjoy Freshers Week?
- Get peoples contact information to keep those connections.Â
- Push yourself but know your limits
- It’s okay to say no to things
- Everyone is scared its okay to be scared and communicate with others.Â
- Stay hydrated
- Get plenty of rest
- Make sure you take time to recharge between all events and late nights!
Why should I partake in Freshers Week?
It’s a great opportunity to meet new people outside your course you may not find the chance to interact with otherwise as well as a great opportunity to get involved in societies and events. It’s a good opportunity to push your limits/exploring new experiences. It’s safe way to understand what you like and what you don’t like and enables you to meet a variety of communities. You don’t have to go to everything but stepping outside your comfort zone can help you settle in and make some great memories. Freshers Week is also a good chance to find people who share your interests. You may also find a new passion you haven’t yet explored.
